Calvin Muhammad retired from the United States Postal Service after 34 years of service. He is currently living his passions as a teacher, Dance Instructor, Photographer, Videographer and motivational speaker with the Black Star Project.  He also continues to host his TV show of more than 20 years called “To Your Mental Health”. 

 

Within his areas of interest, Calvin’s certificate in Advanced Mental makes him uniquely qualified to assess chemically addicted persons and administer programs for overcoming addictive tendencies.  To this end, he primarily works with African American males.

 

His other professional and community involvement includes volunteering at the Veterans Administration Hospital; a member of the Institute of Black Addition Professionals (IIBAP) as a member and speaker and a member of the Washington Park Camera Club.

 

A graduate of Harold Washington College, Calvin is most proud of the fact that he raised and financed the college education of his 3 children – all as a single father.
