Melody Davis is currently a teacher at North Mesquite High School in the Mesquite (Texas) Independent School District (MISD).  Prior to her tenure there, she has worked at the middle school level for the 15 years in the Dallas (Texas) Independent School District (DISD) where she educated students in English/language arts and professional communications.  She has received numerous accolades for her students’ successes and was a previous Teacher of the Year finalist for DISD.  

 

She has also co-owned her family’s Smoothie Factory franchise. She is active in her community as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and as an usher and mentor at Disciple Central Community Church in DeSoto, Texas.

 

Melody earned a B.A. in Education from Clark Atlanta University and her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Prairie View A & M University.  Mrs. Davis is the mother of two and married to Kevin Davis of Mesquite, Texas.
